Lionel Messi was born in Rosario, Argentina on June 24, 1987. He is also called Leo Messi but has a bit-long name, Luis Lionel Andres Messi.

Jorge, the Father of Messi was a steelworker and coaching to the local football team.

In 1995, He started playing football and joined his first local football club where he started showing his skills.

Messi and his family moved to Barcelona at the age of 13. He played for FC Barcelona there and Scored 21 goals for the under-14 team.

He became 3rd youngest player for Barcelona after playing his first game at the age of 17 for them and the youngest player to score a goal.

Messi signed his first contract for 150 million euros which lasted until 2010.
